Happy Easter

Duck

Duck

Isn’t this the cutest thing ever?!  I’m so smitten with this pattern.   I still have the second one on the needles but it’ll be done pretty soon.  These are a gift for a co-workers new grandson.  I’m really excited about them.  This is also the first time I’ve done a toe up sock.   I see more toe ups in my future…I also see making more of these, perhaps this pattern will be my go to for baby gifts.  It was very nice to have the Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock in my stash.  I bought a good number of single skeins when I toured their facility.  I planned to use them for heels and toes but this is good too.   I may be able to get two pairs from a single skein, I’ll weight the socks and leftovers when I am all done.

This next picture is also something new for me.  I have loved Marie Callendar’s fresh strawberry pie for as long as I can remember.  There are no Mary C’s in Chicagoland so I have to resort to my own kitchen and culinary skills.  So for dessert after our Easter meal we will feast on my version of the fresh strawberry pie.   I hope it’s good…I can’t wait to taste it… it was so pretty that it simply deserved a picture.  I kind of screwed up the glaze recipe slightly but I don’t think it’ll make a lick of difference in the final outcome.

Yummy fresh strawberry goodness!

Happy Easter everyone!
