Oh Em Gee

Wow, I am such a crappy blogger.  But I wanted to share a couple of things with y’all.   Grandpa turned 81 and for a gift I constructed a Voodoo doll of the Michigan Wolverine coach as a gag gift for him as part of a football survival kit for the fall.  I think the little fella turned out cute enough.  I sent him along with the following instructions.

Michigan Coach Voodoo Doll

Why should you be left alone to suffer through another horrible Wolverine football season without a good way to share the pain?

Does Michigan football cause you headaches, pain in the neck, back or butt? Did that last play leave you scratching your head in confusion? Does Coach Rod lack the cajones to go for the win?

Well it’s time for you to pay him back…go ahead and just stick him where it hurts, give the coach some heartburn, dandruff or get him right in the groin. A bit of jock itch or athlete’s foot never hurt anyone, right?

Take out all your football season frustrations, don’t be afraid to really give it back to him, yeah, this guy isn’t so tough, he won’t be able to handle all you can dish out…after all he’s NOT really a Michigan man, is he?

I guess you’d have to be a Wolverine fan to really understand but then that was the point.

I finally finished a UFO that I started on October 8, 2008….yeah…WOW you say?!  I guess I probably stopped knitting it to get on with some holiday gift knitting that then just never went back to it…whatever!   I proudly introduce you to Boing! by the ever talented Anne Hansen.  The Malabrigo lace I used was oh so very soft.  Feeling wool this soft should convince anyone who says wool is scratchy and itchy and should not to be trusted to actually reconsider and  give it a go.  I have another skein in the Roanoke colorway which is kind of a rusty color that I had intended to make a gift with but now…I might just hoard this buttery softness for myself.

Boing!

Boing!

I’ll love wearing this around my neck in the cold weather months with a special broach or pin.  This yarn begs to be worn about the neck, it’d be a shame to not keep it next to your skin….A total shame!
