No posts in May?

I had to get in at least this one post for the month of May.  It’s been a busy month.  I was in California during the last half of it visiting and lending a hand to my parents.  The weather was phenomenal, sunny, in  the low 70’s with a cool breeze and then lovely chilly evenings which made for great sleeping.  The wind kept the smog from hanging in the valley for which I was ever truly grateful.   I had a couple of fun days where I was able to either escape and shop  or visit with my best childhood friend Susan.  It’s funny when you have really connected with someone in your life that even though time and distance have kept you apart that just being together again you almost immediately fall into step and it’s like you’ve never been apart at all.  That’s how it is with Susan.  She’s as lovely and funny as ever and her family is simply wonderful.

Yesterday my hubby and I put out our usual Americana for the Memorial Day weekend.  I love the way my home looks when it’s all patriotic.

Hurray for the red, white, and blue!

Now that I am back I thought it was time to get down to business and do some stuff like make some cards for those June birthdays.   I really like how they came out.  I used the zigzag on my sewing machine on the Mary Engelbreit patchwork one.
