Threadbear Roadtrip

Most of the details have now been finalized. So here’s the scoop.

.

May 5, 2007 we leave from the Naperville Metra station at 7:30 am CST just after the 7:25 am CST train arrives from the city. I’ll be taking attendance so as not to leave anyone behind.

.
There will be much fun and excitement on the bus as I will have “treats” for all…I don’t want to spoil any surprises so that’s all I am going to say about that. Let me just say…you’ll be glad you made this trip with me.

.
We should arrive after a fun filled three hour bus ride through scenic Michigan and not so scenic Indiana which will make it 11:30 EST as we lose that hour. We will be spending 4 hours at Threadbear Fiber Arts Studio. At around 1:00 EST (that’s 12 noon CST) our box lunches will arrive. Yes…we are eating inside the yarn shop so you won’t be torn away from your fiber Disneyland.

.
Lunch Boxes will be provided by a favorite local restaurant called Benson’s Vinaigrettes. Inside your lunch box you will find a Deli Wrap featuring both ham & turkey, Swiss & American cheeses and veggies. Each box will also contain only one of three different salads. There is a choice of broccoli raisin salad with red onions and sunflower seeds, a Hawaiian coleslaw that has pineapple and other island inspired flavors and a cucumber salad which is said to be a favorite with the local patrons, well actually all three come very highly recommended. We will finish off our lunch with a chocolate dipped strawberry. Bottles of water, Diet Coke and Coke are available as beverages. If you have a strong preference on your beverage or your salad I suggest you plan to eat early for best selection.

.

We will board the bus for our return trip at 3:30 EST. I’ll be taking roll call to make sure that no one is left behind. We will reach the Naperville Metra Station around 5:30 CST. For those of you that would perhaps like to remain in the downtown Naperville area to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a Mexican dinner before returning home I recommend Front Street Cantina on Jefferson. Potter’s Place is also a local favorite and is just a few doors down from Front Street Cantina.

.

The Naperville Metra Station is located on the corner of Washington Street and 5th Avenue just south of Ogden Avenue. We will be meeting on the North side of the tracks in the parking lot which has free parking on the weekends.

.

I am looking forward to a wonderful trip…I suggest that you start making your list now so you will be sure to return home with the fiber of your dreams.

.

The success of this trip will determine whether I decide to plan more excursions like this. If you have any suggestions of places that you’d like to visit please let me know.
