Whoa…what a day!  Alright I know you all wait for my Midwest Stitches recap so without further ado…

I loved the new venue…Schaumburg is a much better facility that Rosemont so thank you XRX.  The food was expensive (OMG a $5 hotdog?) but swanky in a Panera sort of way…no sloppy joes here.  The aisles were larger and the vendors varied.  Where do I start….?  Let’s start at the door.

I arrived early with friend Julie in tow.  As we waited for entrance to The Market we were greeted by buff young men without shirts.  This eye candy was compliments of SWTC who had them handing out yarn samples and tattoos.  Also in the lobby was a wall of yarn samples ready for tasting…I kid you not…they now make yummy yarn out of corn and milk….seriously!

Julie made a great call when we entered the arena…WEBS is first!  See what I bought?!  I have been wanting Kauni for quite some time.  Also…purchased some WEBS sock yarn,  it’s yummy and is priced at $4.29 per skein…you need two skeins for socks…do the math…a pair of socks for $8.58!  No way you say!   WAY…totally!  I also snagged two skeins of Berroco’s Ultra Alpaca Light in nice heathers for some cabled fingerless mitts.  Total dollars spent…just under $30.    Today was an excellent day.

I tried to spend more but seriously I just wasn’t inspired to buy much else.  I got a purse handle to make this cute bag and one 4×4 tank top pattern….boring but so satisfying.  I had fun shopping…I shopped until my feet began to seriously object…so we left around 3-ish, no regrets.

I finished my Ravelympic Hat Dash in the nick nick nick of time.  Woot woot…probably not worthy of a gold medal but definitely the bronze.

Lastly I leave you with some yummy lemon cupcakes I made for work.  When you go on a vacation you are inspired to return and share a yummy treat from your vacation destination.  I didn’t bring back CA treats but instead created “A Day at the Beach” cupcakes, so easy and too cute!
