All Around Comfort
Sometimes it’s all about the comfort. I knit this lovely little baby blanket for my friend Sue’s first grandchild-to-be. I had thoughts about doing something patterned, like an argyle design but instead I went with something so simple because I went for the comfort factor. I didn’t want to create a lovely heirloom blanket that the baby would never use. My hope is that this blanket will become the baby’s special binkie, a blanket of security and comforting. Only time will tell… I knit this with “vintage” LB Cotton-Ease in Pistachio. I used the better part of 4 skeins. I knit with a smaller needle and then knit up to 180 sts before I began the decrease portion of the pattern. It’s very soft!

Last weekend I stopped by the Farmer’s Market and bought a medley of berries for a crumble. I picked up some blueberries, raspberries, black raspberries and blackberries, then tossed them together without any added sugar and topped them with a yummy oatmeal crumb topping. The picture isn’t as clear as I would have liked but it’s still rather pretty.
