Christmas Knitting
I wish I would have started my Christmas gift knitting sooner, I need like another month. I finished a large project that I will have to share later…those prying eyes you know might see. I am currently working on some socks for gifting. This was the first time that I had tried the Short Row Heel, it turned out spendidly with this self striping yarn. I bought the yarn from Knitpicks when they used to sell other people’s yarns and they gave out the pattern for free with purchase on their website. This is Forever Jacquard from Lane Cervinia aka Plymouth Yarn.

I started on the second sock this morning and was really successful with matching up the yarn so I’d have paternal twin socks then potential disaster struck! Knots….two of them…trying to mess me up with the striping…I totally hate that. I was very lucky to be so near the beginning that I did the only respectable thing to do…frog and begin again but only after the knots. I just could not give an inferior knitted gift…it’s just not in me. I’ll settle for fraternal twins for myself but I would not could not live with knots….there are no knots in knitting…if there are then you might as well call it crochet.
Great start haulted by bad "knot-tage"
Naughty Knots
After this pair is finished I have another pair to cast on for and knit like a fiend so they will be ready in time for holiday gifting. I also have a couple of scarves to get done too so I’d better skeedaddle but not before I share one of my latest finds. I had a nice lunch break and went to Williams Sonoma and heard one of the helpful sales ladies talking about the VeggiChop. She was itching to demo it and I said go for it and ended up buying one. This chopper is worth every penny. No more crying kitchen tears for me when it comes to onion chopping. I love Love LOVE my VeggiChop!
