Merry Christmas!!!!!
Gingerbread House
I went to a gingerbread house building party with my friend Sue and came home with this lovely little cottage. It’s currently on display at work because it goes along with our theme, Treat Yourself To A Good Book aka Books Are Sweet. I love to catch a whiff of it when I am on desk.
So today I can post some Christmas knitting items. Apparently neither my mom nor my MIL waited for Christmas morning to open their gifts….’sup wit dat? Aren’t grown ups supposed to be able to handle the wait? Yeah well I probably would have been tempted too so I won’t hold it against them. First up is a shawl for my mom out of Paton’s Classic Wool in Denim and Heather Grey.
Wool Peddler's Shawl with variation
I knit the variation available on Cheryl Oberle’s site. I also knit a much larger shawl than indicated too, basically I knit up three skeins of the blue then proceeded with the variation until I ran out of the grey. My mom really likes the extended version which is the point of it.
Forever Jacquard Ladies Sock
These socks were a gift for my boss, it was the first time I tried the short row heel and I am really happy with how they turned out. I had bought the yarn from Knit Picks when they still sold other peoples yarns. The pattern was a freebie from their website. This was a really fun project.
Homespun Scarf for San
This scarf was an Secret Santa final gift for San at work. Many of my co-workers claim to be allergic to wool so I have to knit with acrylic sometimes if I want to knit for them. Basically I used the numbers for Misti Chunky Ribs & Ruffles Scarf with out the ribs because that would have totally been a waste of time with the Lion Brand Homespun.
A bit of fluff for my MIL
This little number was a quick knit from a kit I bought at Midwest Stitches. I knew the minute I saw it that it was perfect for my MIL…and I was right. I still have two more gifts to knit for gifting but I am not seeing the recipients until “next year” so I can do it.
Merry Christmas and many blessings to you all in the coming year.
