My Cuisinart and I are not on a first name basis
My Cuisinart and I are not properly acquainted. We are definitely not on a first name basis. I don’t really use it for much…I’ve pureed cottage cheese for cheesecake and I’ve made bread crumbs. We have been together for years but I have never really understood all that it can do for me. I mainly use it to pulverize stuff. I love that it puts safety first but it pretty much renders the machine useless to me as I can rarely get the stupid thing aligned properly to use it. The base must be perfect…the lid must be perfect…the chute thing must be perfect….only then can you actually pulse your whatever into submission. I thought about my Cuisinart after seeing the movie Julie and Julia. I am not a newb in the kitchen…Actually I am quite far from that. I’d like to think of myself as the Top Chef in the hobbist category. I am not afraid of trying out any recipe I choose. I’ve actually made some pretty sophisticated dishes…but yet I am still not on a first name basis with my Cuisinart. In an effort to get to first base, I will begin with some hand holding and then some cuddling and in the months to come I will go all the way with my Cuisinart. Whatever that means.
I was able to pulverize some whole wheat bread to make crumbs for this lovely plate of Sliders.
Sliders
I was inspired when I saw some cute little mini buns from Pepperidge Farm…the grocery store had a recipe for Sliders posted next to them. Some quick pulverization expertise from the Cuisinart and a short time later we had a plate full of sliders for lunch. The meat mixture is very much like meatloaf. My guys immediately slapped some cheese on them and some condiments and promptly gobbled them up. I’ll probably make these again but not in the near future. They were good but not that good. Bon Appetit mes amis!
I also made these nifty cards.
