What Would You Do?

So…you are happily knitting away on your hat with some butter soft Morehouse Farm Merino Super Bulky in heather brown that perfectly matches your Dachshund scarf….and you run out of yarn.  What do you do?  Here are the options.

  1. Order more yarn.
  2. Frog it and forget about it!
  3. Frog it and begin again with fewer stitches.
  4. Use some random yarn and finish it…(this was the suggestion from two of my men)
  5. Go for the chocolate.

So what would you do?   My mind is playing mental ping pong.  It says…your hat is just a tad big (which I like because it won’t smash my hair)  so frog it and start over.  Or what’s the big deal…you should just order more yarn?!  Stash smash you can always use some more yarn!?  See this is how the trouble starts.  It’s totally my fault too.  I was tired when I decided to knit the hat and I goofed!!

Oh…I totally know what happened.   I can be such a metal math midget at times!!!!   The pattern calls for 2 skeins of Andy’s Merino which has 200 yards per skein and you double strand throughout the pattern.  I have 1 skein Morehouse Farm Merino Super Bulky which has 102 yards per skein.  Can you see my stupid error????  Sad fact is that I totally love this hat   Smart money says frog and regroup…with fewer stitches…after I ingest a square or two of Dove Dark Chocolate.

The big question remains…will I play it smart, frog and begin again or will I pull out the VISA that I stuck into my pocket before coming downstairs and log in to order?

Place your bets!
